Two days after the Oscars, Hollywood continues to buzz about the slap. Will Smith slapped Chris Rock after Rock joked about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. Pinkett Smith shaves her head because of hair loss due to alopecia, and Rock said she could star in G.I. Jane 2. Smith has posted an apology to Rock, but one ticket app reported an uptick in sales to Rock’s stand-up shows.

TickPick tweeted on May 28 that sales for Rock tickets have doubled overnight since the Oscars. Here’s more information on where to see Rock and how to get tickets.

Chris Rock tickets are still available

TickPick is an app that promises no service fees and the lowest prices on the market, with a price match guarantee. Rock sells tickets to his performances through TickPick, and March 27-28 saw a major uptick.

Chris Rock is on tour

Rock is on his Ego Death World Tour 2022. His next show after the Oscars is March 30 in Boston. We’ll see if he adds any Will Smith jokes to his set. The 7:30 show is going for over $1000 with the 10:00 encore and subsequent dates going upwards of $380.

The tour goes through November 17 and 18 where Rock will return to the Oscar stage at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California. In between he’ll hit major U.S. cities, England, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. In New York, Rock will share a double bill with Kevin Hart. By mid April prices drop back below $200 although some choice dates, like Atlantic City, New Jersey, are over $800.

Standup was Rock’s first home. It was out of standup that Rock auditioned for Saturday Night Live in 1990. Rock continued to do standup, many performances of which became HBO specials, as he made movies like CB4, Head of State and Top Five

Will Smith does not face charges

The LAPD reported after the Oscars that Rock declined to press charges against Smith. LAPD said if he changes his mind, Rock is still able to file charges at a later date. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has come under fire itself for failing to provide adequate security to prevent the incident on stage.

The Academy tweeted following the telecast that it does not condone violence. AMPAS also committed to opening a review of the incident as Smith’s behavior constitutes a violation of their code of conduct at the ceremony. Though the Academy could have the right to take back Smith’s Best Actor Oscar for King Richard, prognosticators agree that is unlikely. Whether Smith is invited to the 2023 show remains to be seen.
